Serena Williams, out of action since winning Wimbledon in July, has experienced another significant health problem. Her representatives confirmed that she was hospitalized last month in Los Angeles because of a pulmonary embolism and then required further emergency treatment Monday for a hematoma, a pocket of blood that swells under the skin.
A pulmonary embolism — a clot that blocks blood flow to the lungs — can be life threatening, but Williams’s spokeswoman, Nicole Chabat, said in a statement Wednesday that “thankfully everything was caught in time” and that Williams was resting and recovering at her home in Los Angeles.

This video lit up the #Blck twitter sphere on Sunday. You will note a White mob engaged in disorderly conduct in the AA officers face. Disturbing the peace would be an understatement. Notice the professionalism of the well trained officer.
You will note that these citizens are not in their homes or on their front porches. They were at a public "Health" Care reform meeting, No ARRESTS! Good Cultural Health lesson.

Cultural Literacy Minute: Like Ward Connerly and Judge Thomas, their are Cultural traitors exposed from time to time. But it is still strange when you see Cultural Poisoning up close and personal.
Two things struck me about Obama's leadership during this incident. One, he said it was OK for them to stay and hold their signs, but let him speak. Two when escorted out, they did not have to say "...Don't Taze Me Bro...". Naturally, I won't bother comparing this to a Republican rally.
Father Micheal Pfleger preaches about White privilege and denial using Hillary as an example, causes fire storm. This seems to be the last straw in Obama's decision to resign from his Chicago church.
Father Pfleger Rant - Final Straw or Obama Exit Strategy?
Well, I can say without fear of contradiction, Obama sure knows some fiery preachers. I would not have made that speech, nor would I have resigned from this open, flexible, pull no punches , high energy church. I may not agree with everything they say but you have to admit these folks will keep you awake on Sunday. But then again, I am not running for President of the United States of America.
If we take the unfortunate reference to Hillary out , Father Mike sounds like he was making a useful cultural poisoning point about denial of White Privilege in America. This is another "clip" of something I would like to see the full speech on.
Was this the final straw or Obama's exit strategy? It was a little of both. Obama and family were talking about the attack by Republicans hacks on him and on the church. He cannot control what happens at Trinity Church, this is politically problematic. The church has done great work in the community and is now getting death threats. Obama's decision to resign from the church is probably, on balance, the best thing for Obama's campaign and his former church and the people of that community who need the unhampered services of that institution.

Did you notice the Culturally Healthy mud cloth on the podium. Finally what should European Americans take away from this continuing surprise about what goes on in the Black church. Church, is one of the places that African Americans and their friends speak freely. You may not like what you hear but if you want to, "hear" Black people, church is one place you should listen to.

Obama's much anticipated "race" speech was more about unity then the old politics of "race". He also challenged us Americans by asking us, do we want to have the old discussion or the new one?
Today Obama gave a speech in the home of the constitution Philadelphia, PA. He talked about the constitution's promise and practice and the gap. He talked about Black anger and White anger and how often this is a distraction from the business at hand. He made surprisingly Culturally Healthy statements regarding legitimate discussions of "race" and shined light on those in the media that would mislabel such discussions "political correctness" and "reverse racism". He reminded Americans to be mindful of those who would try to move us off course toward a more perfect union.
So as I listened to him talk about my older Rev. Wright generation and his generation and the new generation that he is attracting to politics, it dawned on me, that his speech was more about unity than "race". He ended with a TeamAmerica challenge, .do you (voters) want to have the old discussion on "race" or would you rather have the new discussion on American issues like War, the economy and health care.
I was pleased to see this remarkable individual be wise enough to turn the negative attacks into a National Cultural Health Learning opportunity. .
