Top Ten T.V. Cultural Poisoning Comments + Columbus Day

If you do not know what symptoms of Cultural Poisoning sounds like, this short demonstration is a powerful example of nationally famous incidents of poor cultural health. In some of these cases you will recall that the people lost their jobs as a result of their untreated dis-ease. (Video)

We can generally tell a slip of the tongue from underlying conscious or unconscious  thinking. Cultural Health is a terrible thing to waste. If you do not want to improve your Cultural Health for moral reasons, or so that you don't make and A$$ out of yourself in public, then do it to best preserve your economic health.

The above type of Cultural Poisoning is fairly easy to detect if you have your RaceDar on.
Columbus Day Cultural Poisoning requires you understand some basics about history. So here are some Columbus Day 101 Cultural Literacy corrections to the historical record.

Columbus Day 101
1. The indigenous people of Turtle is Island (America's) are not "Indian's" Indians are from India
2. You can not discover a place where people already live.
3. Columbus was not the first European to visit Turtle Island.
4. The vikings came to this land 500 years earlier and the Africans were here 1500 years earlier.
5. Christopher Columbus was a criminally insane murder and en-slaver of people
6. His visit spread World War Zero (The enslavement of people of color "Slave Trade") to Turtle Island leading to 50 million indigenous dead. This is added to the 100 million Africans that would die in WW0.
7. Columbus's attack on Turtle Island must be understood in the context of of the Cultural War c. 1500 B.C.E. -Present that starts in Classical African Civilization, Kemet (Ancient Egypt)
8. The Culturally Healthy Indigenous people of Turtle Island (Native Americans) hold this day as a day as a day of morning.

What Every Church Should Feel like

Imagine if you could see through your church. Spirituality should be a clear blueprint through which the initiate can see his movement on the path and that of her fellows.

I don't usually do Art. I do Cultural Health, Physical Health and Technology. But this Sunday (sun's day) this art spoke to all three of the things I do. Enjoy in peace and happiness.

elgian Architects Craft Dazzling See-Through Church By Priscilla Frank
In the Information Age, "transparency" has rapidly become a buzzword, with calls for transparency in government, in business and even in church. Belgian architects Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh may have been taking that last example literally when they constructed a see-through chapel titled 'Reading Between the Lines' in Limburg, Belgium.

Getting Funky for Jesus In Church and Kemet

If you have ever wondered why so many Southerners like to get their Church-on, checkout my man Aaron Levere on the drums for Jesus.
Music in Church, at funerals, weddings and religious services goes back a long way in recorded history. It is good to see that spirit still alive and well.

Let's Go to the Video Tape

He would fit right in at AME Hood in Harlem, New York (The Hip Hop Church). This African Church in Africa Town New York City is youth and music oriented

Cultural commentary, I grew up in a European Christian church in Queens, New York. The European church is quiet The Black Church especially AME and baptist in general are lively. Now don't get me wrong, their is quiet music to move the spirit quietly, but then their is this lively music to WAKE uP the spirit. Personally I like this full range of spiritual activity.

I can see my ancestors now with their spirits moved by the famous African trio. The oldest picture of a band in recorded history playing modern instruments that we can recognize comes to us from Classical African Civilization, Kemet (Ancient Egypt).   It is called the Three Musicians  - of Kemet from the Tomb of Nakht (Video), not to be confused with The Three Musicians of Europe by Pablo Picasso

Exhibit Sheds Light on African Bible Secrets - Video

A British exhibit focusing on the African Bible "Book of the Dead" follows ancient Egyptians' journey from death to the afterlife. The West continues to improve its understanding of Classical African Civilization, Kemet (Ancient Egypt) Spirituality and Religion with this exhibit.

The video Should be viewed with a Cultural Health grain of salt for example, "The book of the Dead" is a culturally poisoned term used by invading grave robbers who stole the African Bible more properly called the Nuk Au Neter, from the tombs of buried Africans.

Let's Go to the Video Tape

Important Cultural Literacy exhibit. Very interesting video of the shinny ones' (ancestors) rarely seen artifacts.

The Nuk Au Neter was a testament to the positive life of the deceased African who it was buried with. It would contain spiritual elements of the departed's life like the 42 Commandments a subset of which, we still find in the modern religions of our day, Along with Classical African Words like Amen.

Obama on Separation of Church and State

Obama knows his religion. He explains why America must have separation of Church and State. I layout the case for separation of Corporation and State (Video)

The President's words of clarification and edification regarding "separation", are particularly instructive as we move into the November 2010 midterm elections, with Republican extremest like O'Donnell, the Tea Party and their "Christian Nation" code, trying to blur and in some cases erase these traditional separations.

Let's Go To The Video Tape

In summary, we are a multi-ethnic nation and a multi-religious nation. All Americans could not, and would not, agree on what a state religion should be, unless by coercion. Therefore we have separation of Church and State, so that the historic evils of "Religion" do not creep in and corrupt the government of the people.

Government's role is to protect and provide for the general welfare of the people. Religion's role is to provide for the spiritual development of its members. It is wise not to let one interfere with the other in modern day America.

I assert that the same principles that govern Separation of Church and State should govern Separation of Corporation and State, for the same reasons. That is, so the historic evils of "Corporations" do not creep in and corrupt the government of the people. An example of this is, the disgraceful Republican Supreme Court Ruling that Corporations have the same rights as human beings.

We must correct this monetary corrupting evil by constitutional amendment. I therefor propose The Separation of Corporation and State constitutional Amendment as follows.

Amendment XXVIII v1.2

Separation of Corporation and State

Purpose: To prevent criminal interference in the Electoral process as set forth in the constitution of the United States of America.

Section 1. Any attack or other interference in the electoral process by a foreign entity, Government or multi-national government (Corporation) is an act of war against the people of these United States. Any person or organization adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort shall be deemed to have committed treason.

Section 2. All officers are personally liable for the actions of the corporation. They can not buy "officers" insurance or engage in any other scheme to defraud section 1.

Section 3. Corporations are not human beings and do not have the rights of humans

Section 4. Corporations can not spend one red cent on any political activity.

Section 5. All the votes of every voter must be counted in Federal Elections.

Section 6. Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

1. Do you agree in principle?

2. How would you add or subtract from Separation of Corporation and State?

10 Commandments of Cultural Health News

There are the 10 commandments of main stream media news that most reporters follow. I write about Cultural Health so the "commandments" needed some modification.

I am African American so my AA cultural Orientation is reflected in these commandments. If you are Asian American or Latino American modified, these commandments  will function for your ethnic group too, check it out and tell me what you think.

1. Cultural News is at the intersection of  culture and News. Big news is where the pictures are in cyberspace and/or the video is on YouTube or supplied by a hyperlocal news reporter.
2. The Days news has to fit in 4 or five paragraphs or 1 to 2 minutes of video clip on your blog
3. Use Cultural Health phrase bites (like MSM sound bites) connected to Knols e.g. Cultural Poisoning, Cultural Literacy, Cultural Terrorism
4. Anything the First AA President does is potentially Cultural Health News. Anything done against him, friends or family is potentially Cultural Health News.
5. If the competition has it, carry it, but put your own cultural commentary on it. Your unique view from a Cultural Health perspective is what is added value to the story. e.g. Angry Blacks get more media attention than 'nice' Blacks. Other ways to get media are to be insanely rich (Oprah, Bill Cosby), or to rhyme (Muhammad Ali, Hiphop singer etc.). Or to be a Black Anti-Black, a Cultural Traitor like Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes or Armstrong Williams. The competition my carry it but  the Cultural Health news task to shed light in dark places, play the good actors more then the bad actors an put the average man into the popular mix.
6. A little show biz doesn't hurt. That translates into, sometimes dramatic "racially" or politically charged headlines are needed to get peoples attention but then be serious and civil in content.
7. Cultural news follows the Network News which, has to follow the lead of the New York Times and/or the Washington Post, with imitations of the original story - Cultural Commentary added. Old Commandment superseded by Cultural News follows Cybernews like Newsvine, Google News, Twitter, Buzz, etc.
8. Visually unexciting stories are TOLD, while visually engrossing stories are SHOWN. Rodney King police beating or a Police shooting are shown while a story of institutional discrimination or invisible Cultural Poisoning is not told.
9. If it it did not happen today, it is not news anymore. Exception, cultural injustice anywhere at anytime is an injustice when I/public finds out about it. e.g. America infecting Latio's in Guatemala with syphilis 40 years ago is cultural news today, because we found out about it today.
10. Leave the viewers/readers thinking a little harder then they were before, and/or challenged to act.
What did I leave out? How would you modify these 10 for your ethnic group.

The 42 Commandments of Ancient Egypt

The 42 commandments of Classical African Civilization, Kemet (Ancient Egypt/Nubia), were as widely know in the ancient civilized world, as the ten commandments are known in the civilized world of today. (Video)

Here stands an African American still reciting these ancient commandments today.
:Let's Go To The Video Tape

In this version of the 42 Declarations of Freedom from Sin it is interesting to note that the Sister says I have not committed treason against my ancestors. She is hear talking about Cultural Treason. She also talks about Ma'at. To find out more about Ma'at and the worldviews that enable one to distinguish Cultural Treason Click Here.

Now let's  rewind to early Classical African Civilization (CAC) c. 4500 B.C.E. ,  and the African Astro-psychology charts. What we will see is the original cosmology that is today seperated into the "modern" disciplines of Astronomy, on the one hand and Astrology and Psychology on the other. Here we see the earlyest concept in recorded history of universal laws "Jupiter" representing the ntr law of Tehuti and justice "Mars" representing the force of Nature Herukhuti. It is from these cosmologics that the basic 11 laws flow.

Fast forward now to the Nuk Au Neter (African Bible) which, stands as the ancient testament, in relation to say the old and new testaments of modern Christianity. These holy scriptures are the source of the decelerations of freedom from sin, also known as the positive assertions (mis-named Negative confessions by Cultural Terrorists). Initiates in the Kemetic spiritual system judged themselves daily, and at the end of their lives, using Ma'at, (law, ridiculousness,  love, balance)

So what you have seen in this year of the African Star Date c. 12,010 A.S.D., is a modern African in America continuing the legacy of the shiny ones (ancestors). It is one thing to read about the 42 Commandments, it another to see a modern mut brining herself to judgement daily on her path of spiritual development. Amen, Aaaaaamen, Amen!

Cultural Literacy Minute: The African Bible has been historically mis-named in the West as the "Book of the Dead" because it was found with the dead by Culturally Illiterate invaders who robed the graves of Kemet. The pert em heru (book of coming forth by day) which, is simply a title of one of the chapters of the Nu Au Neter, is a name usually lovingly given the African holy scriptures.

What cultural technology do you use to judge yourself daily?

Obama Talks about Cultural Health on Father's Day (Video)

Obama makes a remarkable speech about one of the most important elements of Cultural Health, fatherhood and the family as rocks in our foundation. (video 23 min)

Barack Obama's Speech on Father's Day

There are some that will say this speech is political. They will say that everything Obama does from now to November is political . And yes, this speech will have political implications but the speech goes way beyond politics as usual. I know of no candidate for President of the United States that would come to my church and have the good judgment, skills and empathy necessary to make this call to action and paint this picture of positive change on Father's Day.

He pointed to a number of things that fathers should incorporate into their lives and their families.

Responsibility
High Expectations
empathy (not sympathy)
Faith and hope
Spirituality

It is interesting to note how respectful Obama's speech was. Respectfull to the church, to the community, to fathers, mothers, children and the Nation. My regular readers know that I start most conversations with Hetep and Respect. I point this out to say, that Obama may not use the terminology of Cultural Health yet, but his speech was culturally healthy.

Barack talked about not just fatherly responsibility and family responsibility he talked about national responsibility. He talked to the fact that each citizen has a responsibility to improved the Nation's Cultural Health so that we leave a better nation for his children, our children and the world.

That is my Cultural commentary. That is what I heard, a call to action and a message of hope to fathers, individual families and the National family. What did you hear?

White Priest at Obama's Church Makes YouTube Loop

Father Micheal Pfleger preaches about White privilege and denial using Hillary as an example, causes fire storm. This seems to be the last straw in Obama's decision to resign from his Chicago church.

Father Pfleger Rant - Final Straw or Obama Exit Strategy?

Well, I can say without fear of contradiction, Obama sure knows some fiery preachers. I would not have made that speech, nor would I have resigned from this open, flexible, pull no punches , high energy church. I may not agree with everything they say but you have to admit these folks will keep you awake on Sunday. But then again, I am not running for President of the United States of America.

If we take the unfortunate  reference to Hillary out ,  Father  Mike sounds like he was making a useful cultural poisoning point about denial of White Privilege in  America.  This is  another "clip" of something  I would like to  see  the  full speech on.

Was this the final straw or Obama's exit strategy? It was a little of both. Obama and family were talking about the attack by Republicans hacks on him and on the church. He cannot control what happens at Trinity Church, this is politically problematic. The church has done great work in the community and is now getting death threats. Obama's decision to resign from the church is probably, on balance, the best thing for Obama's campaign and his former church and the people of that community who need the unhampered services of that institution.

Speaking the full context
, here is a part of Father Mike's speech defending African American leaders and Cultural Soldiers, that you did not see looped in the corporate media.

Father Pfleger Defends Farrakhan, Wright, and even Obama

Did you notice the Culturally Healthy mud cloth on the podium. Finally what should European Americans take away from this continuing surprise about what goes on in the Black church. Church, is one of the places that African Americans and their friends speak freely. You may not like what you hear but if you want to, "hear" Black people, church is one place you should listen to.

Cultural Literacy is a terrible thing to waste

Wright's National Press Club's Words You Did Not Hear

Everyone has heard clips from the Question and Answer segment of Rev. Dr. Wright's National Press Club remarks. However, there was no looping of the most important remarks which were made during his opening statement to those assembled who's interest is Faith, Social Justice and Public Service.

The Clintonites bushwhacked Wright into the wrong type of exposer. The person who organized and encouraged Wright to take the high risk step of opening himself to questions from the press was a Clinton supporter. Knowing that the Press was on a "Wright Watch" just waiting to spin facts into fiction as "elderfogy" puts it, there should have been no open secession. This person gave him bad advise and I think his ego (Animal Spirit) clouded his normally good judgment. A minster is not a politician and should stay out of political situations were his presentation can be spun into a weapon to be used against Obama at this critical political time.

You will note that the press did not write about the religious Cultural Literacy information that the American people could benefit from like the Black Codes and the reason for the Black Church, or the fact that the Black church is in some instances older then the United States of America. In fact, the "Press" has completely blacked out the fact that he was there to speak about Faith, Social Justice, Public Service and making the Black Church more visible.

Cultural Literacy Minute: Look for what the Corprate Media left out if you are interested in finding the information that is of most value to you and your family.

Obama Race and Unity Speech

The White and Black anger excerpt from the speech ( 5.44 min)

Obama's much anticipated "race" speech was more about unity then the old politics of "race". He also challenged us Americans by asking us, do we want to have the old discussion or the new one?

Today Obama gave a speech in the home of the constitution Philadelphia, PA. He talked about the constitution's promise and practice and the gap. He talked about Black anger and White anger and how often this is a distraction from the business at hand. He made surprisingly Culturally Healthy statements regarding legitimate discussions of "race" and shined light on those in the media that would mislabel such discussions "political correctness" and "reverse racism". He reminded Americans to be mindful of those who would try to move us off course toward a more perfect union.

So as I listened to him talk about my older Rev. Wright generation and his generation and the new generation that he is attracting to politics, it dawned on me, that his speech was more about unity than "race". He ended with a TeamAmerica challenge, .do you (voters) want to have the old discussion on "race" or would you rather have the new discussion on American issues like War, the economy and health care.

I was pleased to see this remarkable individual be wise enough to turn the negative attacks into a National Cultural Health Learning opportunity. .

This article's Newsvine poll asks you to answer the question, was Obama's speech successful? The answer depends on what you want to talk about going forward.

Kwanzaa 101 2007

Hetep and Respect every holiday is a Cultural Health opportunity. If you have never seen the seven principles of Kwanzaa take a look. If you have seen them and need a refresher here it is. One of the nice things about the holidays is that we get a chance to learn about each others holidays.

Kwanzaa is the most widely celebrated original African American holiday. “The Father of Kwanzaa” is Maulana Ron Karenga, an African American scholar and social activist. The celebration runs from December 26 to January 1. Kwanzaa (First Fruits Festival) is in the best spirit of Cultural Literacy in that it is a synchronization of African values at home and abroad. This remarkable blend of African and African American values is a major force in the fight to improve Cultural Health in our community by raising Cultural Literacy and reducing Cultural Poisoning here in America

Kwanzaa is anchored by its seven guiding principles, known as the Nguzo Saba. Each principle is denoted by one word from the pan African language known as Swali, as reproduced below. I have added the pronunciation.

Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles)

1.UMOJA (Unity) [oo-MO-jah]
To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation and ethnic group.

2.KUJICHAGULIA (Self-determination) [koo-jee-cha-goo-LEE-ah]
To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves instead of being defined, named, created for and spoken for by others.

3.UJIMA (Collective Work and Responsibility) [oo-JEE-mah]
To Build and maintain our community together and make our sister's and brother's problems our problems and to solve them together.

4.UJAMAA (Cooperative Economics) [oo-jah-MAH]
To Build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.

5.NIA (Purpose) [NEE-ah]
To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.

6. KUUMBA (Creativity) [koo-OOM-bah]
To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.

7.IMANI (Faith) [ee-MAH-nee]
To believe with all our hart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

Maulana Ron Karenga

Note: In the interest of Cultural Health, the word "race" has been changed to ethnic group in the first principle ("race" is a doublespeak word).

Ending Biblical Brainwash

For better mental and cultural health, it's time we classified
religious fundamentalism as a psychological disorder

By George Dvorsky

Betterhumans Staff

[ Monday, December 16, 2002 ]

Imagine that you're a psychiatrist. A new patient comes to see
you and says that he regularly talks to an invisible being who
never responds, that he reads excerpts from one ancient book and
that he believes wholeheartedly that its contents must be
accepted implicitly, if not taken literally.

The patient goes on to say that that the world is only 6,000
years old and that dinosaurs never existed. He brazenly rejects
modern science's observations and conclusions, and subscribes to
the notion that after death he will live in eternal bliss in
some alternate dimension. And throughout your meeting, he keeps
handing you his book and urging you to join him, lest you end up
after death in a far less desirable alternate dimension than him.

Is this a mentally healthy person? If you were a responsible
psychiatrist, how could you answer yes? These symptoms border on
delusional schizophrenia, which the American Psychological
Association's DSM-IV describes as involving a profound disruption
in cognition and emotion, assigning unusual significance or
meaning to normal events and holding fixed false personal beliefs.

So, should you insist on follow-up appointments along with some
strong medication? Well, quite obviously, the patient is a
religious fundamentalist. So he would most likely not be
diagnosed with a psychological problem. In fact, such a
diagnosis could land you in hot water; the patient's religious
beliefs are constitutionally protected.

Yet, perhaps it's time this changed, and that we made religious
fundamentalism a mental and cultural health issue. People should
be able to believe what they like, but only so long as their
convictions don't harm others or, arguably, themselves.
Fundamentalism, however, breeds fanaticism and often leads to
terrible violence, injustice and inequality. If society can force
drug addicts into rehabilitation because they're a danger to
themselves and the public, then we should be able to compel
religious fundamentalists to undergo treatment as well.
