Thanksgiving, Obama, The Pilgrims and Kemet

A conservative Group has tied President Elect Obama to the Pilgrims and they have done a surprisingly good research job, so I as a liberal cannot say they are wrong. In fact, I will add to their thoughts.

President-Elect Barack Obama and his daughter Malia (left) greet a man a during a visit to food bank in Chicago Photo: REUTERS

This Thanksgiving I gave thanks for family, friends, my spiritual development and my health. But this year, I added thanks for Obama, his family and the new more Culturally Healthy direction of the nation. I remembered the first citizens and did my traditional Thanksgiving Cultural Literacy Op-Ed and also raised, to some resistance, The Two Thanksgiving stories at the Thanksgiving table.

This year I am even forced to acknowledge one "good" thing that George Bush did in eight years of destroying America and the Republicans robbing the Native Americans blind. Bush actually signed the bill making the Friday after Thanksgiving Native American Heritage Day. This gives us two national holidays to tell the truth about and praise our first citizens.

President Barack Obama Anthem / Song/ Music Video

Now to the story at hand, Obama's connection to the Pilgrims by the conservative American Spectator, henceforth, let it not be said that I do not use conservative sources. The story shows a remarkable link from Obama back to the Pilgrims. But before we get to the details we must clean up one element of Cultural Poisoning that opens the article.

"…The several dozen Pilgrims who celebrated the first Thanksgiving in Massachusetts in 1621…"

There were three landings of Europeans from the Virginia Company on Turtle Island in the 17th century. The first two were in the south in what is now Virginia and a northern group that landed in what is now Main. The Massachusetts landing was third not first landing or the "First" Thanksgiving (meal involving Native Americans). For details see The Two Stories of Thanksgiving
.

In short the article points out that the Pilgrim and the Puritan Congregationalist churches merged and in the late 1700's moved toward Unitarianism. In the 1800's these social reformers were at the forefront of Abolitionism and woman's rights working against the Cultural anti-humanists. In the 1900's they merged with other churches to become today's one million plus United Church of Christ (UCC). Then the article asked the question:

"…How did the Pilgrims evolve into Jeremiah Wright?>…"

Now this question may seem unrealistic however, it is more accurate than the writer knows. Barry Fell from Obama's Harvard University wrote a book America B.C., where he reveals in word and pictures the African Kings and Queens of New England c.800 B.C.E. so, it is interesting to note that the Africans who came and taught some the indigenous people of Turtle Island to read and write with Kemitic Metu Neter (Hieroglyphics) are still felt today. The Native Americans, in their descendants, influenced the church which influenced Rev. Wright. Wright as a culturally literate African American knowledgeable about Classical African Civilization passes it on to Obama, and the circle is closed.

In the spirit of thanksgiving, this story from a conservative, with my cultural commentary, demonstrates how Obama by default improves Cultural Literacy without saying a word about Cultural Health. We should give thanks this year for the opportunity for learning before us.

The Two Stories of Thanksgiving

{{Potd/2005-11-24 (en)}}Image via WikipediaStory one: Pilgrims sit down to eat with Native Americans, or Story two, Pilgrims sit down and eat Native Americans on "Thanksgiving". The question posed is, which is the real story? And how should you view and interact with the holiday thanksgiving?

In School, I learned that the Pilgrims had black hats and gold shinny buckles and sat down and had a wonderful meal with their friends the Native Americans in 1621. I thought this was the way things looked, because this is what my teachers and parents told me. This is not like Christmas, they wouldn't lie about this would they?

I was in middle age, before I learned that this was not the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help my teacher’s God. I would not say they “lied”, however, the Europeans that were invading Turtle Island did not have cloths as described. They whore much less flamboyant plain everyday work cloths. In addition, most Native Americans would tell you that these were not the friendliest folks that ever landed on Turtle Island.

Historians Joel A. Rogers, Dr. Rev. Ishakamusa Barashango and others report that 44 of the Pilgrims died in their first winter in America due to laziness and mental illness. Further, they report that not only did they fail to take the advice of the Native Americans regarding planting and providing for themselves. They actually stole corn from, killed and would eat the Native Americans and each other.

John Smith's Map of the Powhatan Nation he "renamed" Virginia - Larger Map

See the following quote from Captain John Smith (1580-1631) "So great was our famine that a savage we slew and buried, the poorer sort took him up again and ate him; and so did divers ones another boiled and stewed with herbs. And one amongst the rest did kill his wife, powdered her and had eaten part of her."

The General History of Virginia Fourth Book Page 294 (1606-1625)

So what is the real story of Thanksgiving? Did European Americans eat with Native Americans or did European Americans eat Native Americans?

In Closing, let me point out that the reason for informing you about the "The Two Stories of Thanksgiving", is to cause all Americans to think more deeply about this important American holiday. Should we stop celebrating Thanksgiving, No! Thanksgiving should and can be a Culturally Healthy event. As a general proposition families getting together to celebrate family unity, and the harvests of family and friends for the year, is a good thing.

However, we must have an accurate picture of the past, if Ma'at (Truth, balance) is to be served in the present and the future. So the bigger question is, what stories do we tell our children, regarding early American relationships to Native Americans. This holiday is a time to ask ( or re-ask) ourselves, What is, and what ought to be, our political, social and spiritual relationship to Native Americans?

See the Cultural Literacy Minutes below.

1. Who were the good and bad guys in American Cowboy and "Indian" movies of the 1960's and earlier?
Note: your answer to the above question will tell you something about your cultural orientation to Native Americans.

2. "Indian" = DoubleSpeak (Cultural Poisoning) - Antidote = Native American, Indigenous People, Mohawk, Chippewa, etc.

3. There are also Black Indians among us. This is the Third Story of Thanksgiving, click here.

To view a discussion with Native Americans and other Americans that has been going on for many years visit this link. WARNING This is the old Wild West of the Internet before spell check and before I knew anything about writing.

Our (Americans) relationship to our Native American brothers and sisters has not been Culturally Healthy. I have reactivated your ancestral memory about three of the stories, there are many more, learn about them. It is the Twenty First century, Obama is the President Elect, God is in her heaven and we now have the tools to cure this dis-ease.

It starts with you. So what are you going to do about it?

What is a 'RaceDar', and why does mine not work?

Everything you wanted to know about RaceDar and were afraid to ask. Jerry, a European American on Newsvine asked me this question and the following is some of the meat I put on the RaceDar bones.

My earliest note of racedar was is in 2004 in an Asian discussion group. I naturally and talking about this tool from an African American point of view but it is a general cultural health tool used by other ethnic groups. RaceDar is a word that went into the specialized Cultural Health language sometime in 2007,2008. The CamelCaps came in 2008. The radar picture, that leads this article, illustrates how this psychosocial construct might look to the minds eye. However, it should be noted that RaceDar maps may look different depending on the input. Below is a the Bigot Belt Map as presented by the New York Times showing were the Republican Party gained margin in the 2008 Election.

Hitting the Bigot Belt link will take you to the live map, were you can look at margins by state. This southern belt covers a series of states historically known to carry a high degree of Cultural Poisoning and large numbers of overt extreme anti-humanists.

See my answer to Jerry below.

"...LoL, you are funny but concise in your question.

Most Black people who live in a World War Zero Zone have built in survival instincts that alert them when they are in the presence of or hear an enemy. African Americans would be included in that group and RaceDar is a specialized word that represents the complex set of psychosocial tools contained in the context of WW0 survival instincts.

I assume you (your ancestors) were on the other side of WW0 so RaceDar would not have been handed down to you. Secondly, your life, in this lifetime, has not generally been in danger because of your ethnicity therefor you have no natural need for such a technology."

So there you have it, everything you wanted to know about RaceDar but were afraid to ask, another Newsvine first. Get Smarter here. What do you think of the answer? Do you have a RaceDar? Why? How did you get it? is it fine tuned or in disrepair? If you don't have a RaceDar, same questions. Do you need one? is your Cultural Health served by having one or at least understanding that RaceDar exist?

Yes, I know, a lot of questions, however Obama is teaching us that if we are all to play on TeamAmerica we need to ask questions of each other, be frank and think a little harder then we have in the past.

For more information and a full discussion see my MSNBC/Newsvine article of the same name.

Capitalism and Communism are Dead, What Now?

World War II Memorial and Washington Monument WWII MemorialThe anti-humanists have burnt these systems to the ground, now what do we the people do. In America we are in trouble housing is on fire, the financial segment is burning and the Automobile manufactures are melting down from the heat. What is next.

First we must understand that Capitalism and Democracy have been with us from the dawn of time, they are the natural way that humans live. In early high cultures in Africa we see examples of direct democracy were everyone in the nation had direct input to the national leader (Chief) on important matters of state. One also finds representative democracy in the clan system and council of elders (congress) national systems of old, some of which survive to this day, on the continent in the Americas and other parts of the world.

"Who Killed the Electric Car?" TRAILER edited in part by me.

We practice two forms of that original capitalism here in the West. Common Capitalism which is the original form more or less and Criminal Capitalism. As soon as you get 10 people living together capitalism naturally activates suppliers and consumers. That is, someone does chairs and someone does food and their useful production is common complementry capitalism. This common system is based on real human labor "work".

In criminal capitalism those who control capital (printed out of thin air, CDO's etc.) and supply, with out regulation by the people, rob the consumers blind. Communism is simply a system where the criminals are in the government instead of "private" industry. Bush and the forty thieve managed to put the criminals in both places so he produced the worst of both worlds pushing the country into recession headed for depression.

What do we do now. The auto maker meltdown is our first real test. The action will be left to the "O" Generation and will set the town for the future.

A car that runs 200 miles on compressed air.

My recommendation: we should Nationalize the big three auto makers for 10 years pressing them into national service. We should invest the 25 billion or what ever is needed with the following changes.

The Aunk Six point Auto Plan

1. Senior management is fired

2. New management is hired at half salary

3. The big three like in world war II will only make the -Green Three- Hybrids, Electric cars and cars that run on Air.

4. Half of the board of directors will be replaced by public representatives.

5. The companies must become transparent (Finance and process must be put on the internet in real time so I can see and interact with my investment).

6. The Big Three will be returned to the Private sector when 50% of the cars on the road are one of the green three or in ten years which ever comes first.

Last but not least in our videos we have the Hybrid

Chevy Volt Plug-In Hyrbrid Vehicle

Our Country is in a state of emergency not unlike the 1929 depression and WWII. We need to take similar dramatic action to change the direction of the ship of state. We need all hands on deck especially private industry. Let's roll up our sleeves get patriotic and get this carbon free job done.

What do you want to do?

Evo Morales the Bolivian People's President Visits my Home Town Talks About Obama and the world.

"Bolivian President Evo Morales joins us in the firehouse studio to discuss the election of Barack Obama, US-Bolivian relations, the global economic crisis and more. Morales is visiting the United States at a time when relations between the two countries are deteriorating. Last month, the Bush administration suspended long-term trade benefits with Bolivia over its alleged failure to cooperate in the “war on drugs.” Meanwhile, Morales has given the Drug Enforcement Administration three months to leave Bolivia. He accused DEA agents of violating Bolivian sovereignty and encouraging the drug trade."

Video

Morales and His Supporters

You really have to see this guy, what a cultural humanist. Morales reminds me of Mandela. It is amazing how Bush and the forty thieves manage to piss people off and get himself kicked out of another country.

Obama has much work to do. Bush has attacked every continent except Australia and Iceland. It is hard to see at this point how Obama will repair the relationships and America's good name in all the places where Bush and the forty thieves have besmirched it. However, Bolivia and its indigenous president represent a good example, in my opinion, of a person our 44th President will be able to work with to hammer out a new mutually beneficial humanist relationship with the Global South.

Should Palin be Charged with Inciting to Riot?

Sarah Palin - BarbariansImage by smiteme via Flickr

What is the penalty for hollering fire in a crowded cultural theater? What should the Nation do about Palin mob type Cultural Terrorism?

At the Dawn of America, cultural humanist and anti-humanist were present. The Humanist won the war of words - The Constitution - and the anti-humanist won the war on the ground, laws enslaving other human beings to make money.

The American challenge has been to overcome its birth defect and move toward that more perfect union, despite the fact that anti-humanists live among us. This election has moved us in that direction however, to say that we have gone Post "Racial" would be over statement at best, foolhardy to the overly optimistic and downright dangerous to the President Elect and African Americans in general at worst.

I wrote about Sarah Palin's Cultural Terrorism as she committed the crimes. Click Here The good news is that it is no longer just me noting that Palin is a Cultural Terrorist, the Secret Service blames Sarah Palin for the rise in death threats against Obama Click Here. Now to be accurate it is not just Palin, McCain and Republican extreme anti-humanists are accomplices

In case you thought that Cultural Terrorism is theoretical or simply part of America's past, now even the late culturally irresponsible mainstream media is reporting that "race" crimes are spreading around the county.

This reality raises important social contract questions.

As we Americans settle into fixing the economy, ending the war in Iraq and providing Universal Sick Care for all citizens, what is to be done about the anti-humanists among us that would attempt to Culturally Terrorize TeamAmerica ?

What would you do?

Nov 4, 2008 Will Live in Cultural Health History forever

Arguably at the founding of these United States of America, it can be said that the Nation's Cultural Health stood at zero. As of Election Day, Tuesday November 4, 2008, America's Political Cultural Health stands at 52% officially.

We have always known that African Americans will vote for their fellow Americans of different ethnic groups. Could that happen in reverse for the top office of the land was the Cultural Health question on the table. The American people have answered,
I am overjoyed like most Americans to see our nation start to come out of the Bush Dark ages and move toward the changes needed to put our country back on the right track. I could not be more shocked and pleased that my fellow Americans made their choice on the Culturally Healthy elements of character and the issues.

In case you are one of the three people on the earth that did not hear the speech. Or if you just want to hear it again.

President-Elect Barack Obama in Chicago

Transcript

There are many ways to tell the story of an election. I did a series on “How to Pick a President” the threads tell a story. I also did a seven part series on how different ethnic, religious and national groups were polling. I presented the numbers on Jewish Americans, Woman Voters, Latino Americans, Asian Americans European Americans, African Americans and the World Vote. Looking back on the threads the comments foretold the outcome but I was still not a believer.

In the end, the American people not only exceeded the Polls and my expectations, they exceeded my hopes.

This was not just a political election. This was a political, cultural and Ideological election. The “O” generation (18-29 years old) will drive the notion of smart government for a generation. Speaking of culture, anti-humanism in the “southern” block of states is still alive and well. This was not a surprise and a lot of Cultural Health work remains in this Republican region. What was a surprise is the fact that there was no substantial Cultural Poisoning effect (Bradley Effect). In fact, an unexpected reverse effect known as the Paper Bag Republican came into play for the first time. Simply stated, some Republicans said they would vote for McCain and actually voted for Obama, WoW!

This election has laid down a new Political Cultural Health bench mark. The country and the world are jumping for joy and freedom. Now it is time for us to roll up our sleeves.

For a great telling of the Story in pictures go to the Newseum

Fox: Palin Culturally Illiterate Regarding Africa

Fox News reports that Sarah Palin did not know Africa was a continent. If Obama is a poster child for comfortable cultural literacy, then Palin is a poster child for cultural illiteracy.

Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent

Wow, just Wow, A computer illiterate Presidential candidate John McCain and a culturally illiterate Vice Presidential candidate. The people that the Republicans chose to represent them are poster children for the anti-humanists in the Republican Party.

One should note that it was Culturally Illiterate individuals that dragged America into Bush's Iraq War. Culturally Literate Americans understood that, like Vietnam you can not take over another ethnic groups land and resources like in the old days. In the end it is Cultural Literacy that will take us out of the Iraq war.

I remember some time ago a study that reported that something like 35% of High School students could not find Canada on the map. Palin has out done them. Coming out of High school unable to identify the the basic divisions of the earth is an indictment of us elders. Palin coming out of college, missing a continent, says Obama's Education change needs to go into high gear.

In my book DoubleSpeak in Black and White I have the world's first Cultural Poisoning self test. The second question in that test is "How many continents are there and is Europe one of them?" This information indicates that Governor Palin would answer this question in a manor that would demonstrate a symptom of Geographic poisoning. How much do you want to bet that Palin thinks Europe is a continent.

If the day after America making history, this type of information is coming out already, then this is probably just the tip of the iceberg. What a contrast to Obama/Biden. Can you imagine the MSM if Obama picked a VP that did not know all the Continents, LoL. This is one more confirmation of the peoples choice.

Cultural Health requires that we have at least a basic working knowledge of the cultures and attendant geography of the people we interact with including African Americans. In this regard, Palin is a prime example of an American that can benefit from an improvement of Cultural Literacy as a means of strengthening her Cultural Health.

Place Your Bets, Last Call – Obama v. McCain

Tuesday the Tires meet the road. Talk is over, now it will take ACTION to gain traction. This is your last call for alcohol, go on the record, SpEaK now or forever hold your piece.

The majority of the pundits say that the Democrats will blow it out. On Sunday the talking heads give the Democrats the Electoral College, the Senate and the congress. The Next President needs 538 Electoral College votes to become President Elect. I have heard Electoral College estimates from 333 – 378 for Obama. Oddly enough the 378 came from George Will a hard core conservative Republican. Estimates for the Senate are plus 5 - 8 seats and the congress gains of 21 -40.

30 million have already voted in early voting and tens of millions will go to the polls tomorrow. In the popular vote, the polls have Obama ahead double digits in some states and 6 – 7 points nationally with Obama's lead shrinking.

I was going to put up just a simple popular Poll but I have decided to have us go on the record in both the Electoral College (EC) and the Popular Vote (PV), so we get no wiggle room on Wednesday. In your comment put your EC & PV then your Senate and house prediction. Naturally I will take the lead with the first comment.

WARNING, it is possible here at Newsvine that those who bet wrong may take some heat on Wednesday. Don't forget to come back and take your beating like a man/woman as the case may be.

Electoral College Prediction

Obama 350 McCain 188

Obama 333 McCain 20

Obama 300 McCain 238

Obama 270 McCain 26

Obama Loss McCain Miracle

Other Explain

Popular Vote Prediction

Obama Blow Out

Obama 53% McCain 47%

Obama 51% McCain 49%

Obama 50% McCain 50% Runoff

Obama loses McCain Miracle

Other Explain

I am on the record with fingers crossed

EC = Obama 270 McCain 268

PV = Obama 51% McCain 49%

Senate plus 7 seats

Congress plus 28 seats

If you are one of my great, great, great, honorable grand children and this is the year 2050 or beyond, how did I do?

Obama Leads in The World Vote 9 to 1

Only US citizens can elect the President of the United States of America. But their now is a place in cyberspace where the world's citizens can cast a virtual vote in this historic election that will effect the world. Cast your vote from your country now. Only Two days left!

To see and use the World Magic Wall CLICK HERE

We have all seen the CNN Magic Wall showing the electoral Map of the United States. What you see in the lead picture of this article is a screen shot of the World Magic Wall showing the electoral Map of the world with five of the six continents and all the major countries.

How should you view this map? Well it is a both a vision for the future and a reality for today. Today it is a work in progress that you can participate in to make your country's view felt. No, 6 billion folks did not vote however, a percentage of the world has voted using this new tool and you can too.

It is truly remarkable the detail that you can zoom in on. You can see a pie chart of the entire world's vote. You can look at the vote by any country in the world. You can see which countries voted most. You can see who voted by gender and age. You can also look at the world or a country's opinion of the United States' People, government etc. Last but not least, you can look at the world's Top Eight issues globally or by country.

In looking at the World Magic Wall, I note three things that caught my attention. One, that virtually the whole world is Blue (for Obama). Two, Health Care which, is number one in my Top Issues list is number four in the USA Issues List.

Three, the majority of Red countries are found on the African continent and Far North Africa ("middle east"). This strikes me as odd and the reasoning behind it is probably very interesting from a Cultural Health perspective.

As we close, go to the Magic Wall look around and tell us what you noticed. Two Cultural Literacy Minutes that you should keep in mind as a reality check. First, one third of the world does not have a light switch let alone a computer, so the results must be taken with a grain of salt. Second the map that is used to represent the world, is the counterfeit map (Mercator Map) that misrepresents the relatively small island of green land, .8 million Square miles, as larger than the second largest continent Africa, at 11.9 million square miles. Cultural Poisoning is not just transmitted through words, Pictures also play a major roll in the dis-ease. The Peter's Map is the accurate map which the more Culturally Healthy organizations have adapted as their official map.

Well if these figures are any judge the world's Cultural Health is much improved. All eyes are on Tuesday in the US. If you have been following my Political Cultural Health Index series, you know the question is, what is America's real PCH Index? See you at the polls.

Obama Leads With African American Voters

Some have said that because Obama does not go out of his way to mention African Americans he will not help us, wrong. By helping everyone he will help us too. A rising tide lifts all boats.

African Americans for Obama

On March 31, 1870, Thomas Mundy Peterson (1824 - 1904) of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, United States, became the first African-American to vote in an election under the just-enacted provisions of the 15th Amendment to the United States Constitution. How important voting is can not be over emphasized. Think about it, you are not a citizen until you _____?

This country is based on the constitution and money.
Politics is the means for managing money. That is, who you elect locally or nationally determines who can make money. They also determine who can get the peoples money. Remember the Bush no bid contracts. A person who does not vote, even with all the problems of voter suppression, does not participate in the constitution or the money flow in their community.

To my Amazement I discovered this year that I have a friend who is an author like me, an Ivy League graduate and does not "believe" in voting. I naturally went to work trying to improve his Political Cultural Health. A long story short, because of his daughter and history he took a closer look at Obama and decided to vote. But the story does not have a happy ending. He was to busy to register, then he got caught in the Bush/McCain Wall Street melt down and is looking for a job.

So in the end I failed, my friend will be sitting on the sideline unable to participate in this historic moment. A vote is a terrible thing to waste.

The good news is that African Americans have shed much blood to gain their right to vote and the number of African American voters is growing. Let's take a brief look at the history of the Black Vote.

Pre World War Three (African Holocaust)

on the continent one finds the Central Worldview (African) has utilized democratic forms of government from time immoral. The natural forms of government before the Western invasions was direct democracy is small society's and representative democracy (age groups and council of elders) in larger groups.

World War Three (Africans enslaved)

voting rights where removed by cultural anti-humanists

Eventually Africans in America aligned themselves with the Lincoln Republicans. This anti-enslavement party at that time housed most of the nation's humanists. The Democratic party was initially an anti-humanist party developed to compete with the Republican Party.

Civil War Battle

Temporary voting rights for some African Americans in some states, some times under some varying conditions

Civil Rights Battle

Voting rights of African Americans were restored by humanist like Dr. King and President Johnson.

In 1964 58% of African Americans voted however, their party affiliation had changed. The Democratic President's acting to secure the citizenship rights of African Americans drove a large percentage of Democratic cultural anti-humanists (code named Dixiecrat or social conservatives) into the Republican party. So, African Americans understanding this, voted 85% Democratic in 1964. In 1968 the African American democratic vote peaked at 92%.

Early Voting Line

The 2008 Election

The 2008 election is shaping up to break all records. With an African American running for President, the predictions run from 92 to a 99% African American Democratic vote. This is because African Americans have historically been America's moral canary regarding national elections. You will note that the majority of African Americans were against Bush in 2000 and 2004. They have judged Obama to be the right man for the job at the right time. The AA canary is once again pointing the way. This is also a historic occasion for most African Americans that benefit from age. We never thought we would see such a choice in our life times, so there is a special pride that goes along with our vote this time.

When I mention my previous article in this series - Whites Split the Vote, Charles a friend of mine reminded me today of the famous words of Malcolm X "...When Whites split the vote Blacks determine who wins..." I am sure Honorable Ancestor Malcolm is keeping a sharp eye on this one.

The question is
, has the political Cultural Health of Americans in genera and African Americans in particular improved sufficiently to put Obama over the top. As Tuesday approaches Americans and the world are holding their breath.

My hope is Obama, I will go on the record officially, with by how much, here in this column on Sunday in my traditional "Place Your Bets" article.
