I as a matter of Cultural Health I stopped watching any game with a Culturally Poisoned name like Redskins, Chief, Tomahawks or any ethnic mascots years ago. In recent years I have stopped watching any sport football, baseball that supports the continuance of this type of Cultural Terrorism. My efforts and the efforts of others to address this mental health issue have not met with the kind of success we are working toward.
However, now that the President of these United States and other prominent folks are weighing in we may finally see the movement to Eliminate Cultural Poisoning in Sports gain more traction.

Obama makes a remarkable speech about one of the most important elements of Cultural Health, fatherhood and the family as rocks in our foundation. (video 23 min)
Talking about fatherhood in the AA community is a road with many pitfalls, it requires courage, love and understanding. Thinking about fatherhood and being the best dad you can be requires these things too. I think about my father Marlin on this day and I think about my children and my fatherhood. I think about my mate's father who just passed yesterday and her relationship to her dad. As Dad. Obama says we will be imperfect father's but we must try to be the best fathers we can be.
Someone once said to me that the most important thing a dad can do, besides being in the home, is letting his children see him be respectful and loving to mom. I can't disagree with that. In fact, I would assert that it is the love and respect that Mom and Dad reflect in each other that will or will not be reflected in their children.
If roles, respect and love are in order in the family than the family is in order. Your Cultural Health mission for today is, should you decide to accept, to think about the state of roles, respect and love in your family and what you can do to strengthen it.

Every American knows the Democrats and Republicans have opposite missions. Now we have two words that make these opposite missions crystal clear. FORWARD AND BACKWARD.

Not only is he NOT a "disappointment," he's pretty much the opposite. And no, I don't just say that because he took out Osama bin Laden, helped Libya determine their own destiny for the first time in a while, and because he seems able to handle international incidents without starting a new war. The guy does nearly everything we elect a president to do, and he doesn't brag about it constantly.
Is he perfect? No, he's human. Does he deserve some criticism? I suppose, but I must admit I haven't seen any complaints that were of based on anything having to do with the real world. One I can't forgive him for is pulling Janet Napolitano out of Arizona. But the thing is, on balance, he's mostly stellar. Besides, criticism about certain specific problems is one thing; taking on an overall "Obama sucks" meme not only has the potential to put Willard Romney into power, it's also a lie. Just because you wanted a president who would give you a glitter-farting unicorn and didn't quite get that doesn't mean he's not doing well at the job we hired him for.

You need to do some bi-partisan nudging on this issue, IMO.
Mr. Bi-partisan is dead the Reputhuglicans killed him. The President has gone above and beyond his job by creating jobs legislation that the legislative branch should have created. Now it is time for we the people to do our job as the President asks us to do at the end of his weekly address. I hit my congress people and the opposition weekly on this. Just take out your Iphone and pop them an email.
What the President should do now, is what he is doing. Shove the JOBS BILL up the Republican's A$$ every 3 or 4 weeks from now to election if need be, till they pass it or till we Reelect our JOBS President and give him a bullet proof JOBS Congress to put us back in the business of Winning the Future.

This was a timely outstanding detailed presentation of the President's plan to pull the Bush Bus the rest of the way out of the Republican recession ditch and make a down payment on our future. Previously he proposes a Buy American initiative. Now he has propose a Jobs initiative. What have the Republicans done for you lately.
The Republicans have been in control of the House of Representatives for more then 250 days and have failed to propose to the president, or the American people, one single jobs bill. They have failed to create one single job. Now they might claim that they were just new and incompetent Teabags and did not know what to do, so the smart leader that we the America people hired has sent them a Jobs Bill.
The ball is in the Republican congress court all they have to do is pass it. Or they can pass their own version of the Jobs Bill. However, if they fail to pass any jobs bill quickly they will be blamed for their failure to help America and will pay at the polls in 2012.
Our leader has done his job and he has advised us as to how we can do our job, call, email, tweet our congress person and tell them to pass The American Jobs Act now.
If the Leader has done his job and we the people have done our job then all that is left is for the third leg of the three legged stool, the Congress to do its job. Let's put America back to work!
Mr. President, not that I do not have faith in our Republican congress, but I think you need a plan B. If the congress fails again to act in a timely fashion to create jobs. I would use one executive order a month starting in January 2012 to launch a new jobs initiate and let them stew in their own soup. We the people are smarter then the Republicans think. We will know what to do in November, It they provide NO jobs for us, we will return the favor.
I have been watching the U.S. Open in my home town for many years and have never seen a First Lady make such a visit to the big game. In the lead picture it is interesting to note the comparable size and conditioning of Serena Williams the first lady (#1) of tennis and our Nation's First Lady. (Video)
It was great to see our First Lady out working for the health and well being of our children with her Let's Move initiative, as her husband works for us with his focus on affordable health care for all and JOBS!

Now this is the way to get our kids moving, help them have fun. The USTA put fast start courts in one of the parks I grew up in, Astoria Park. If we are going to get more Americans in the tennis top 100 we have to give them access to the game.
Mrs. Obama has commented on the fact that she did not get into tennis until after collage because most kids in her neighbor hood had no access to tennis. Like in my hood, Basket ball, football and baseball were the fields we had access to. I had a big park across the street from my home but not one tennis court in it. Good to see that changing.
The Williams sisters demonstrate that America can dominate in tennis on the world stage if we focus. We need to out build tennis courts, out educate our children in tennis, health and fitness. So they can win their health and our tennis future.
Michelle Obama is easily the fittest and most active First Lady in my life time and maybe the history of the nation. Her, her husband and their children are outstanding examples of the balance between health, fitness and mental alertness. It is good to see that our First Lady has her eyes on the prize.

As the 2012 Election season launches, Rolling Stone yells "Houston we have a problem"! Wide spread voter suppression in violation of the Voting Rights Act, the Justice Department must act now!
Rolling Stone just published an enlightening, albeit disturbing, article detailing the coordinated effort on the part of the Republican Party to roll back voting rights for millions of Americans. With the help of the American Legislative Exchange Council [ALEC], the billionaire Koch brothers, and other rightist allies, the GOP has already succeeded in passing legislation that inhibits and/or prohibits voting by students, seniors, minorities, and the poor.
he article goes into great depth describing the GOP assault on democracy and the potential for disenfranchisement and electoral chaos. Some groups, including the ACLU, are challenging the new laws in court.
Hetep and Respect Mr. President, I love you dearly but take my advise and don't use the term "Good Luck" again. Now I don't know if this is true however, I am sure your advisers have told you by now that the Retuglicans will ram those words up you rectum (in or out of context) with Dollar pointed criminal bankster pitchforks.

It's refreshing to hear a new excuse from the President. At least it's not Bush's Fault this time!

No, this is not the reality, the reality is, this is still the Great Bush Recession/Depression of 08. It will take at least 10 years, if not 20, to dig out of this Republican mess. Don't forget the Bush Wars. We can never let the citizens forget that it was the Republicans from Reagan attacking unions and Bank regulations, to sell America out to China, India and the banksters, to Bush and the forty thieves that cause the Republican bankruptcy of the nation (Banks insolvent - no money- economy dead in water).
We hired the smart guy to bring us back from the brink and he has.
He is right, recovery on tract, till too many Dems stayed home in 2010 and allowed the crazy's to stack the lower house with the same people and ideology that bankrupt the nation. They have been in there more then 200 days and have not passed a bill to produce one job or rebuild one single brick in our Nation. Mr. President you don't actually have to speak at town hall meetings. You just have to play the 28 second tape of the Republican Presidential candidate saying that "...Corporations are... human beings..." and the one with the Texes presidential candidate saying that Social Security and medicare are unconstitutional. End of story, you are reelected by all the elders of the nation and their children and you get a Democratic house with a land slide.

It is interesting to note that I am in the last part of the book Dreams From My Father, where Obama is in Kenya meeting his family just before he goes to Harvard. In many ways Barack Obama is a good example of what Culturally Healthy American behavior looks like.

Let me close by saying, talk about the capacity to do more then one thing. As the President helped make Trump an American laughing stock his team was keeping America safe, what was Trump's team doing? While Trump and extremest Republicans were wasting American's time with this birther crap, the President was taking out America's enemy's like Ben Laden.
When you think about it, Cultural Anti-humanists like trump who walk among us spewing poison, in many ways are more dangerous to America then Ben Laden.

The national discussion on Bush deficit reduction has started with a Republican preemptive strike. Paul Ryan's Budget from hell is intended to put Repubs on offence. Result, temporary news cycle success long term fails to fool anyone.
My Top Three Issues (going into 2012 election)
1. Jobs and continue to grow economy
2. Add Dental and/or Public Option to ACA (Affordable Care Act)
3. Win the Future (activate three part strategy+bush deficit reduction)
You will notice my top three issues do not change because of Paul's non-sense "Budget". Yours should not either, this is just more distraction - Republican smoke and mirrors. Now the Progressives have a budget we should all be talking about first.The People's Budget, then we get to the middle ground of the President's Budget and last the extremest right of the GOP Budget.
The People's Budget balances the primary budget by 2014 and generates a surplus by 2021. This is payed for by simply having Americans who get more from our country, and corporations, pay their fair share. IMHO the folks who voted for Bush putting us in the ditch should pay the full cost of getting the bus out of the ditch. They should then pay their fair share of America's Winning the Future strategy. The President points out (my interpretation) that Bush deficit reduction has a cause and a solution. In the 90's the financial house of America had been put in order. We were on tract, with a surplus in hand, to be debt free. Bush and the forty thieve came into office with a surplus and did four things that caused the bush deficit and produced no useful result for the middle class.
1. Started Afghan War cost $1T (did not get Ben laden)
2. Started Iraq War cost $1T (did not have WMD)
3. Passed Senior Part D Drug rip off cost $1T (did not lower drug cost)
4. Gave Top million/billionaires 250,000 each cost 1$T (They saved it produced no jobs)
Every voter should know by hart that this unfunded 4 trillion dollars in spending is the Bush Republican deficit that Republicans fail to take responsibility for or even tell the truth about. The President reminds us that Bush bankrupt the nation. The banks had to be unfrozen and the economic bus pulled out of the ditch resulting in additional spending as a result of the Republican failures.
The Republican Budget is designed to take from the needy and give to the greedy. The congressional budget office (CBO) graphic shows Republicans taking 4.2 trillion from the middle class, the poor and disabled and giving 4.3 Trillion to the top 2%. This is Ronald Reagan Reverse Robin hood all over again. How has that trickle down been working for us? The Republicans truly believe their public relation belief that, the masses are A$$es.

The budget question for voters is actually a clear cut one, based on what kind of country you want America to be. A. The United States of America (USA) or B. The United Corporations of America (UCA) . The President has laid it out but he will not determine the outcome, we will. So how do you vote in 2012? Dems; a government of the people, for the people and by the people or Repubs; a government of the corporations, for the corporations and by the corporations.

Which Budget would you vote for Progressive, President's or GOP?
The question is while the African Union representing the continent has gained an agreement on the continent's road map to peace, will the West respect it.
I support the President but, I believe his involving the United States in the Libyan Civil War was a cultural risk of the highest magnitude. The red, black and green flag of the "rebels" is not the Black liberation flag that many mistakenly believed. It is the flag, with its religious symbol, of violent religious cultural terrorists. It is not in the West's interest to have these religious extremests take control of a secular African country and turn it into a theocracy.
The President has what he asked for, a no-fly zone in the air and a cease-fire on the ground. Mass murder of civilians has been averted and the Africans are now managing the diplomatic road map on the ground.
This is a Kennedy Bay of Pigs decision moment Mr. President. The Chinese have a War ship off the coast of Africa. This is a good opportunity put a hold on the French, declare objectives met and let the Africans go back to managing their affairs on their own continent.
I love my African brothers and would like to help them some more however, we have our own challenges after Bush and the forty thieves bankrupt our nation. Libya: Gaddafi government accepts peace plan, says Zuma
South African President Jacob Zuma says the Libyan government has accepted an African Union peace plan to end the eight-week-old conflict.
Mr Zuma and three other African leaders met Libya's leader, Col Muammar Gaddafi, in Tripoli on Sunday. An AU team is now going on to the eastern rebel stronghold of Benghazi.
The African Union's road map calls for an immediate cease-fire, opening channels for humanitarian aid and talks between the rebels and the government.
"The brother leader [Col Gaddafi] delegation has accepted the roadmap as presented by us," Mr Zuma declared.
"We have to give the ceasefire a chance," he said, after several hours of talks.
The details of the plan would be set out later in a statement, Mr Zuma said.
We see a lot of news here in the United States about what Americans think about the Libya situation. But what has been noticeably missing from the news we see is, what do Africans think about the attack on their continent by the West (Video).
The first thing we need to understand about the Libyan situation is, that while 13 western countries including NATO, the UN security council (not all of the UN) and the Arab league have generally agreed more or less to a limited Libya No Fly Zone action, The African Union (AU) is opposed to this No Fly Zone Action.

I did an earlier piece on the President's explanation for his actions and what African Americans were thinking about Libya and the potential cultural consequences of attacking Africa.
Here is one of the few early Western reports that even mentions the African's view, Voice of America. Keep in mind who pays for VOA and its purpose in the world. Now lets find out what Africans think from Africans.

After watching this, only because of Cyberspace and YouTube and the fact that information can no longer be blocked, it struck me, growing up I never remember seeing Africans meeting to discuss continental issues on American TV. Before the AU there was the OAU but it is safe to say that, as a result of enforced Cultural Illiteracy, 90% of Americans never heard of these African leadership groups.
Talk about a little known Cultural Literacy fact, flying the insurgent King's flag is to an African Libyan, is what flying the Confederate flag is to an African American.
Speaking of Cultural Literacy let us listen to a member nation of the African Union in the person of the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He will lay out for us a little history, his analysis of the situation and his recommendations for action steps moving forward.
Did you hear Yoweri Museveni say that the Libyan flag is green and the insurgent flag is red, black and green (not African liberation colors) but the colors of the former Western puppet King. Further he points out that Kadhafi is a secular Nationalist, a Pan African leader. You will note from the link that their is no religious symbol on the Libyan flag, but there is one on the insurgent flag.
Now I am not an expert but just from the flags there seems to be a dramatic cultural difference in Civil War. The insurgents seem to be, as I suspected, religious extremest who are not independent minded Pan Africanist. They have the old king's flag called, Westerners to invade the continent and are already beholding to the West as they try to sit on the part of the country with the oil that the West wants to regain control of.
Well one thing is for sure, this is not the type of analysis that the wolf on CNN or any corporate media is going to present for your consideration.
After hearing the Africans on the ground I am less supportive of our President's actions. Time will tell. In the meantime keep your ears open for all sides of this continuing continental cultural crisis.
