Getting Funky for Jesus In Church and Kemet

If you have ever wondered why so many Southerners like to get their Church-on, checkout my man Aaron Levere on the drums for Jesus.
Music in Church, at funerals, weddings and religious services goes back a long way in recorded history. It is good to see that spirit still alive and well.

Let's Go to the Video Tape

He would fit right in at AME Hood in Harlem, New York (The Hip Hop Church). This African Church in Africa Town New York City is youth and music oriented

Cultural commentary, I grew up in a European Christian church in Queens, New York. The European church is quiet The Black Church especially AME and baptist in general are lively. Now don't get me wrong, their is quiet music to move the spirit quietly, but then their is this lively music to WAKE uP the spirit. Personally I like this full range of spiritual activity.

I can see my ancestors now with their spirits moved by the famous African trio. The oldest picture of a band in recorded history playing modern instruments that we can recognize comes to us from Classical African Civilization, Kemet (Ancient Egypt).   It is called the Three Musicians  - of Kemet from the Tomb of Nakht (Video), not to be confused with The Three Musicians of Europe by Pablo Picasso
